OUR STORY

Founded in January 2022, Extension Dance Academy is a Dance studio based in Thurnscoe, Rotherham. As a studio we offer classes, workshops and parties in different styles of Dance and performing arts!

At EDA we strive for students to BE ALL YOU CAN BE by helping them improve as dancers and performers, grow in self confidence, but most of all finding their voice and expressing their true selfs!

EXTENSION DANCE ACADEMY TIMETABLE

At our studio we offer many classes in different disciplines of Dance and Performing Arts.
Within these classes the students will learn technique building which will challenge their coordination, agility and balance, they will also have the opportunity to learn unique choreography that will be used for performance opportunities, but most importantly learn how to use the muscles that make us smile!

Prices for Classes - per student 1 class a week £20 a month 2 classes a week £30 a month 3 classes a week £40 a month Unlimited classes a week £60 a month
Private lessons - 30 minutes - £10 per private 45 minutes - £15 per private 60 minutes - £20 per private

MISS LYDIA

Principal/Owner

Miss Lydia is thrilled to have Extension Dance

Academy as it has always been a lifelong dream of hers to become a Dancer, Dance teacher and Studio Owner.

Miss Lydia has danced since a young age and has thrived with gaining experience and skills in different styles of Dance, Aerial Arts and Performing arts. From classical and cabaret styles such as ballet and modern jazz, to high intense urban styles of street and

commercial. Her personal favourite style is lyrical dance as you can express your emotions and be free with this

style. Miss Lydia then went on to study dance and performing arts at college where she trained under some of the best

choreographers in the UK and gained a professional diploma of dance.

After leaving college Miss Lydia decided to continue my dance and aerial arts studies in the teaching pathway with BBO Dance

association gaining a professional degree in Dance Teaching, then with IDTA association gaining an Associate Teacher qualification in the Ballet Faculty and Anatomy and Physiology diploma, then Aerial Pro association with an Aerial Hoop teaching qualification.

Since gaining multiple years of teaching and choreographing for different dance schools across the Midlands, I decided to open EDA. At EDA she has had the amazing opportunity to choreograph qualifying and winning pieces for championships and international competitions such as TDCI Championships, Dance World Cup, plus many more!

Most recently, over the past year Miss Lydia has started adjudicating for different competitions online and in person after gaining quality experience as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher and many people who she has worked with often

described myself as a drama queen with sass, as she channels her energy into her work which drives the competitive streak within herself. However, in her own ways she is funny and outgoing with the random things she says and does which allows herself to use her personal experiences to embrace challenges, demonstrating empathy with others and to give a light hearted sparkle to people’s days.

MISS BETH

Teacher

Miss Beth is a teacher at Extension Dance Academy, she teachers a variety of classes on our timetable throughout the week. She is also our head choreographer for our competition team X-tension!

Miss Beth has danced since a young age in many styles of dance from classical theatre styles to urban and upbeat styles of dance.

Miss Beth has performed across the country in different competitions and performance opportunities including being part of a crew who performed on

Britain's Got Talent.

MISS COURTNEY

Teacher

Miss Courtney is one of our Teachers at Extension Dance Academy, she will be teaching different subjects in classes to students at EDA.

Miss Courtney has danced for many years in multiple styles including contemporary, lyrical, acro, modern and cheerleading.

Miss Courtney have lots of experience on stage performing in shows at big theatres and competitions.

She is also very determined to help students grow as dancers and performers with introducing her knowledge and talents into classes at Extension Dance Academy

MISS ABS

Teacher

Miss Abs helps out and teaches in classes whilst gaining her teaching qualifications to lead classes throughout the week.

Miss Abs started dance when she was 4, with Tap and Cheerleading classes, She has been performing in musicals since Miss Abs was 7 and she also trained in gymnastics.

Miss Abs’ Favourite musical is Wicked and her favourite style of dance is acrobatics.
